ADVENT: Advent marks the beginning of the church liturgical year.  Begining around the      end of November, it lasts about four weeks. It is a season of preparation for Christs coming.

ADVENT WREATH:
Circle of 4candles represents our "HOPE"  in the light of the world who the powers of darkness cannot overcome.
Pink candle (3rd week) reminds us that "JOY"
is part of penance.
Purple ancient color of royalty signifies that we are preparing to receive a king as well as to make a straight path for Him to travel upon.

CANDLE1Reminds us of the light of hope that the prophets had as they looked foward to a Messiah who would bring peace and love to the world
CANDLE2-Reminds us of the dark night when Mary and Joseph found light and warmth in the stable
CANDLE3 Reminds us of the love and joy which surrounded the Shepherds at the announcement of the birth of Jesus
CANDLE4 Reminds us of the star which guided the Magi to the stable.
