TRENTON, N.J. (AP/ 1010 WINS) Southern New Jersey might get more snow than the north as a winter storm forms over the Gulf of Mexico.
Forecasters say accumulations will depend on the track of the storm when it passes off the Carolina coast Friday.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening for Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Salem, Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, Ocean, Cumberland. Atlantic and Cape May counties.
Meteorologists say accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are possible in the watch area.
However, forecasters warn any change in strength or movement may bring more snow to the north.
