Following a bitterly cold night and morning across the Sunshine State, highs will be as much as 10-20 degrees below normal.
Temperatures across much of the state will only be in the 50s with a few spots in the panhandle topping out in the upper 40s. The Miami and Fort Lauderdale areas will finally rise back into the lower 60s.
The low at Key West plummeted into the lower 40s this morning (42 degrees as of 5:30 a.m. EST), challenging the all-time record low of 41 degrees set on Jan. 13, 1981. With winds factored in, it felt like the 30s in the Keys! Highs there will climb into only the middle to upper 50s this afternoon, so visitors and residents should dress warmly.
Temperatures across much of northern Florida plunged into the teens, while lows in central and southern portions of the peninsula were in the 20s and 30s.
